Whiteman Airforce Base (Whiteman AFB) is a United States Air Force base located in Johnson County, Missouri, which operates B-2 Spirit bombers and has a nuclear bomb storage bunker. Former President Barack Obama officially visited the site on July 24, 2013.
The convoy of vehicles lined up to enter the base, endlessly long.
Of course, to enter this military base, you will have to be a US citizen and bring a... work contact paper. However, during the first two weekends of June, when the airshow takes place, the organizers "open the door", only checking security like boarding a plane.

All eyes are also on the “Mobile Wonder of the World” – the B-2 Spirit, manufactured by Northrop Grumman, a multi-role stealth bomber equipped with conventional and nuclear bombs.

This is an opportunity for visitors to see firsthand the power of the US Air Force.
The B-2 is the most expensive aircraft ever built: estimated costs per aircraft range from $1.157 billion to $2.2 billion, so I joke with people that this is the “Miss Airshow” of the event.
The multi-billion dollar B2 plane is showing off to tourists.

Here an F-16 Fighting Falcon from the 36th Fighter Squadron at Whiteman AFB is on display while its crewmates wait for their turn to demonstrate various realistic air-to-air combat tactics.
When the B2 took off, everyone held their breath and stood still to... watch.
On the other side is the C-5 Galaxy - the largest military transport aircraft in the US, playing the role of backbone in the strategic transport missions of this military. This type of aircraft can easily fit into the fuselage of a medium-range transport aircraft C-130 to transport thousands of kilometers.

Midday was also the time when colorful smoke columns appeared in the sky, marking the start of demonstration flights of all kinds of aircraft: A10 Warhog, Randy Ball Mig17 – F, Tora 101, P-51D, Trojan Horseman T-28 and the first series of “B” aircraft: B-1B, B-17 “Texas Raider”, B-25 “Devil Dog”, B-29, B-52…

“A free show like this is worth the effort of traveling thousands of miles to see!” - I “praised” myself in the harsh summer sun of Missouri...
