Thailand MICE Forum 2019 - a gathering of leading MICE leaders from around the world.

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) recently successfully organized the Thailand MICE Forum 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. This was also the first time the Forum brought together leaders from leading global MICE organizations under one roof, jointly promoting Thailand's goal of becoming a leading MICE destination in Asia.

With the theme "Thailand Opportunities: Asia's Leading MICE Destination," the Thailand MICE Forum 2019 served as a platform to raise awareness and foster interest among Thai entrepreneurs, encouraging collaboration and the search for new opportunities. The event attracted 637 participants.

In its third year, this event brought together leaders from the world's most renowned MICE associations, including Philip Eidsvold, President of the Society for Tourism Promotion (SITE); Senthil Gopinath, CEO of the International Convention Centres Association (ICCA); and Kai Hattendorf, CEO and Managing Director of the Global Exhibition Industry Association (UFI)... At the Forum, they joined Thai entrepreneurs to share their perspectives on how to develop Thailand's competitiveness amidst global trends.

MICE leaders from SITE, ICCA, and UFI discussed the opportunities and challenges in positioning Thailand as a leading MICE destination in Asia.

In the near future, Thailand is expected to host several prominent events, including: the 86th UFI Global Congress (November 6-9, 2019 in Bangkok), several international exhibitions including ASEAN BIKE combined with EURO BIKE (October 3-5, 2019), Thailand Maritime & Offshore Exhibition 2019 (October 9-11, 2019)...

International conferences to be held include: the Asian Bodybuilding Conference (October 10-14, 2019 in Bangkok) for sports professionals, and Routes Asia 2020 (March 8-10, 2020 in Chiang Mai) aimed at establishing business operations at the airport.

In particular, the L'Étape Thailand by Tour de France international festival (October 25-27, 2019) will be one of the world's largest cycling events with 16,000 participants in Phang-Nga province in southern Thailand.

In 2020, Thailand's MICE target was to achieve total revenue of over 232.7 trillion baht (7.5 trillion USD) - with 105.6 trillion baht from 1,386,000 foreign visitors and 127.1 trillion baht from 36,395,000 domestic visitors.
