In order to meet the expected increase in travel demand on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, Hanoi Railway One Member Limited Liability Company (Hanoi Metro) has announced notable adjustments to the train schedule of both routes: 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong and route 3 Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station.
Specifically, on August 21, 24, 27 and 29, trains will start running at 5:30 am and end later than usual, at midnight. The 2-hour extension will facilitate passengers attending evening events or returning home late. During peak hours, trains will operate every 6-10 minutes, and during extended hours, the frequency will be every 10 minutes.
Hanoi Metro has just proposed a plan to adjust train schedules for the two urban railway lines Cat Linh-Ha Dong and Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station to serve people's travel needs during the September 2nd holiday.
This demonstrates Hanoi Metro’s initiative in meeting travel needs, reducing road traffic and encouraging people to use public transport. Flexibility in adjusting schedules not only helps people save time but also contributes to reducing congestion, creating a clear and safe travel space during major holidays.
Specifically, on August 21, 24, 27 and 29, 2025, the train will run from 5:30 to 24:00 (2 hours longer than usual). The interval is 6-10 minutes/trip, during the extended time frame, a 10-minute interval will apply.
The highlight of the holiday service plan is the special train schedule on National Day, September 2. Urban railway lines will operate continuously from 0:00 on September 1 to 22:00 on September 2. This is a great effort to best serve the overnight travel activities of people, especially those who plan to participate in events celebrating National Day. However, Hanoi Metro also noted that to ensure technical work and safety, the unit will temporarily stop running trains between 3:10 and 4:30 am.
On August 30, operating hours: 5am-10pm. Interval is 6 minutes/trip during 5am-8am; 10 minutes/trip during the remaining time slots.
Train frequency on this special day is also flexibly adjusted. During peak hours such as 4:30-7:30 am and 11:00-14:30 pm, the frequency will be 6 minutes/trip, helping passengers travel faster and more conveniently. During the remaining hours, trains will run at a frequency of 10 minutes/trip. This adjustment shows Hanoi Metro's careful calculation, aiming to balance between meeting travel needs and optimizing operational efficiency.
On September 1, operating hours are from 5:30 am to midnight (2 hours longer than usual). Every 10 minutes/trip throughout the day.
With important schedule adjustments, Hanoi Metro has issued recommendations to passengers. The unit hopes that people will proactively arrange their journeys and follow information on official media channels to get the latest updates and avoid unnecessary inconveniences.
