The incident occurred at 7:15 am on November 2 at Noi Bai airport. At that time, an Airbus A321 aircraft with registration number VN-A222 was being pushed by a specialized vehicle from the parking lot to taxiway W1 to prepare for takeoff to Phu Quoc, the tail wing of this aircraft suddenly hit the cockpit of the VN-A590 parked behind.
The incident caused the tail wing of the plane to Phu Quoc to be slightly dented, and the cockpit of the other plane to be scratched. Although it did not cause major damage, Bamboo Airways had to change to another plane to take all passengers to Phu Quoc as planned, the subsequent flight was about 2 hours behind the original flight.

According to initial assessment, the cause of the collision may have been due to the staff pulling and pushing the VN-A222 plane with a specialized vehicle, following the wrong procedure and not paying attention. Currently, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has drawn up a report, suspended the two planes and the individuals involved, and established an investigation team to clarify the incident.
Mr. Dinh Viet Thang, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, said that this morning, there was light rain at Noi Bai airport. After a number of recent collisions on the apron, Noi Bai International Airport has requested units to move vehicles in the airport area at the correct speed and in the correct direction, especially when pushing and pulling aircraft in bad weather with limited visibility.
The leader of the Northern Airport Authority added that the agency is urgently working with relevant parties to verify, clarify and handle the matter according to current legal regulations.
