The 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory has become a major highlight for Dien Bien's tourism industry this year.
At the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum – a must-see tourist attraction for anyone visiting Dien Bien – statistics show that in just 6 days, from May 2nd to 7th, there were 85,000 visitors.
The number of tourists visiting Dien Bien was so high that many hotels and guesthouses were fully booked. The Dien Bien authorities had to mobilize local people to run homestays to provide maximum support for tourists, but even that was not enough. The overwhelming number of tourists led many locals to proactively seek out and offer free accommodation to visitors in their families.

The Dien Bien Province Relics Management Board and the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum have mobilized all their staff and workers, and recruited additional volunteers to provide explanations, guidance, and services at tourist sites; ensuring adequate facilities to best serve the needs of visitors.
Remarkably, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, millions of people across the country, even those not physically present, had their hearts turned towards Dien Bien Phu on this occasion.
From now until the end of the year, many events and activities will continue to take place in Dien Bien province as part of the Dien Bien National Tourism Year.
