Wild sunflowers are yellow, with many round petals resembling sunflowers, and they grow easily and quickly even in harsh weather conditions or dry, rocky soil. Therefore, they are also called wild sunflowers.
The yellow color of the flowers is very special, like the muted sunlight of early winter, rustic and gentle. The flower stalks are on average 1-2 meters tall, so when the clusters of flowers intertwine, they create a stunning wall perfect for taking Instagram-worthy photos.
These "wildflower walls" are perfect for Instagram photos.

Wild sunflowers are usually grown in high-altitude areas, such as Gia Lai, Da Lat, and Moc Chau. In Ba Vi, wild sunflowers are not as abundant as in Da Lat, but the flowers are usually larger and more vibrant in color. Wild sunflowers are considered a sign of winter approaching on Tan Mountain, so enjoying them on Ba Vi Mountain in the cool, misty weather offers an indescribable feeling compared to other places.
The paths are filled with colorful flowers in Ba Vi National Park.
Wild sunflowers in Ba Vi are most abundant at altitude 700 meters. By November, the entire area is bathed in yellow. Therefore, this is also the most crowded tourist spot during the flowering season. If you don't like crowds, you can choose to drive along the edge of the forest or go to altitude 400 meters, where the wild sunflowers are planted more scattered and there are fewer tourists.

If you want to enjoy your own "world of flowers," you can choose to camp overnight in Ba Vi and check in at the flower garden early in the morning. The most popular free overnight camping spot is the pine forest at Ba Vi Resort. This area is quite quiet, with many spacious flat areas for setting up camp. The pine forest is not far from the wild sunflower viewing spot, so in the early morning, you can relax, pack your things, watch the sunrise, have breakfast, and wait until the fog clears before starting your journey.
Wild sunflowers are most beautiful in the morning, when the first rays of winter sun rise, and dew still clings to the leaves and petals.

Legend of the Wild Daisy
Wild sunflowers are associated with the legend of the faithful love between H'limh and K'lang. Legend says that in a certain village, K'lang, a young man from the mountains, deeply loved H'limh, a young woman from the stream. Their life was joyful and happy until one day, K'lang was captured by the cruel men of the Lasieng tribe during a hunting trip. To protect her beloved, H'limh shielded him from the arrows and spears of the evil men. Finally, she was struck by a poisoned arrow from La Rihn, the son of the Lasieng chieftain, and slowly succumbed to K'lang's grief. After H'limh's death, bright yellow flowers bloomed where she died. People called them wild sunflowers.
That also explains why wild sunflowers are widely grown on high mountain slopes and in forests, and why they are considered a symbol of faithful love and strong vitality.
