Over the weekend, a 46-year-old tourist was allegedly murdered in front of hundreds of other people while at the nudist beach La Mama in Grand Parc de Miribel-Jonage, about 460 km southeast of Paris.
Witnesses described the victim as "insulting and threatening" people at the beach by "masturbating in front of a woman", Le Parisien reported.
The perpetrator was a regular visitor to the beach and an avid hunter. The two men were said to have had an argument before the shooting. After three shots, including one to the chest, the 46-year-old victim died at the scene.

Local police quickly arrived and evacuated the tourists from the beach. The shooter is in custody and an investigation into attempted murder has been opened. Witnesses are also being questioned by police.
France3 reported that the alleged perpetrator was a licensed sports hunter.
By law, these people are allowed to possess and use guns in a club setting, but are not allowed to carry guns in public places.
La Mama Beach was officially opened as a nudist beach in 2007, legalizing the nudist tradition in France - the world's number one liberal destination.
