Last weekend, a 46-year-old tourist was allegedly murdered in front of hundreds of other people while at the La Mama nudist beach in Grand Parc de Miribel-Jonage, about 460 km southeast of Paris.
Witnesses described the victim as having "insulted and threatened" those on the beach while "self-pleasuring in front of a woman," Le Parisien reported.
The perpetrator was a frequent visitor to the beach and a hunter. Prior to the shooting, the two reportedly had an argument. After three shots, including one to the chest, the 46-year-old victim died at the scene.

Local police quickly arrived and evacuated tourists from the beach. The gunman is in custody and an investigation into attempted murder has been opened. Witnesses present are also being questioned by police.
France3 reports that the alleged perpetrator is a licensed hunting athlete.
By law, these individuals are permitted to own and use firearms within club environments, but are not allowed to carry them in public places.
La Mama beach was officially opened as a nudist beach in 2007, legalizing the nudist tradition in France – the world's number one liberal destination.
