Resort rooms fully booked, island tours attract visitors
Ms. Vu Thi Huong Giang, manager of Alma Resort (Bai Dai, Cam Ranh City), said that from now until the end of July, the resort will reach a room occupancy rate of about 95%, and the villa rooms will be almost full.
"This summer, there are a lot of guests booking resort rooms. Besides guests buying tourist apartments, there are also individual guests who have booked in advance. Domestic guests still account for the majority, but there are many groups of guests from Korea, Australia and India coming to stay. During this time, the resort has to run at full capacity to serve guests, the number of staff has had to increase to more than 670 people since the beginning of May," said Ms. Giang.
High-end sea tourism products such as yachts and sailboats are also popular with many tourists.
Similarly, resorts in Bai Dai such as The Anam, Movenpick Cam Ranh and hotels along Nha Trang beach… all have high room occupancy rates during this time.
According to Mr. Tran Van Phu - head of Nha Trang tourist wharf, in recent weeks, tourists going on sea and island tours in Nha Trang Bay have been very crowded, about 4,000 visitors/day. On weekends alone, the number is up to 6,000 - 7,000 visitors/day.
"The fleet of tourist boats and canoes is almost running at full capacity to serve. Tourists mainly go on tours to the three islands of Hon Mun, Hon Tam, Lang Chai, Bai Tranh, San Ho Bay, Hon Soi... After the order to temporarily stop diving in Hon Mun, tourists have switched to diving in Bai Tranh and San Ho Bay," Mr. Phu informed.
Similarly, from June until now, Hon Tam tourist area has welcomed about 75,000 visitors. The two tourist areas of Hoa Lan Island and Monkey Island also attract a large number of tourists, each day the two islands welcome about 1,000 visitors, especially on the 2 weekends, it is 1,200 - 1,300 visitors.
Many new summer tourism products
Mr. Tran Minh Duc - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Tourism Association - said that island tours are the province's strength every summer, especially this summer there are many high-end beach resort products associated with yachts and sailboats.
Cruise ships such as Emperor, Horizon, Sea Coral, Catamaran sailing ships... all have tours to take visitors to enjoy the beauty of Nha Trang Bay and Nha Phu Lagoon. In particular, the Nha Phu Lagoon sunset tours attract a large number of tourists to register to participate. Recently, the Provincial People's Committee has also agreed on a location to allow Sealife Group Company Limited to pilot overnight tourist accommodation activities on Nha Trang Bay.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Catamaran sailing yacht sales director, said: "The number of customers booking sailing tours has increased by about 40% compared to before Tet. Summer has stable sunshine, wind and waves, so customers really like it. Young tourists will choose daytime tours, while older tourists will like sunset tours. Customers can take the initiative in choosing the time and location at sea, besides, light parties on the ship, diving, and water games are also chosen by customers."
Tourists can experience adventure tourism with paragliding.
The representative of Hon En Adventure Sports Tourism Limited Company also said that this summer, they will put into operation a paragliding spot at Hon En (Vinh Phuong commune), this is an attractive adventure sports tourism product. Tourists can participate in tandem paragliding with an instructor to ensure safety, the flight price for Vietnamese is 2 million VND and for foreigners is 2.5 million VND.
According to Mr. Duc, many tourism businesses have also exploited eco-tours, source tourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism, etc. Recently, Khanh Hoa Tourism Association launched the tour "Following the footsteps of Dr. A. Yersin", tourists will visit the destinations where the French doctor lived and worked.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of the Department of Tourism, in the first 6 months of 2022, the total number of visitors to Khanh Hoa reached more than 1 million, an increase of 128.6% over the same period last year; reaching 87.2% of the 2022 plan. In June alone, the whole province welcomed about 350,000 visitors, including about 13,000 international visitors. Tourism revenue for the first 6 months is estimated at nearly 5,550 billion VND.
"The large number of tourists coming to Khanh Hoa signals the recovery and growth of tourism. From June to August, the locality will have a series of programs in the "Nha Trang - Hello Summer" event series to serve and attract tourists. The Department will also complete the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Cultural Tourism Handbook to serve the province's tourism promotion work," said Ms. Thanh.
