Specifically, Fusion hotels and resorts in Hue, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Cam Ranh, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, and Phu Quoc have committed to starting to use cage-free eggs this year, aiming for 100% by 2025 or sooner, depending on market supply. Upcoming resorts and hotels of the group will also join this commitment.
HSI's role is to support businesses in Southeast Asia in implementing animal welfare policies and regularly organize collaborative workshops on production techniques and cage-free chicken farming.
Alba Wellness Valley by Fusion Hue - One of the resorts belonging to the Fusion Group.
Fusion's commitment demonstrates the promising future of using free-range eggs. At the same time, HSI also believes that efforts to encourage businesses, organizations, and individuals to use free-range eggs instead of eggs from caged chickens should be continued.
The practice of keeping chickens in cages is common throughout the world, including Vietnam, preventing them from moving freely and laying eggs in cramped spaces. Therefore, the use of free-range poultry eggs and ensuring animal welfare is spreading in many countries, not only for humanitarian reasons but also for economic, social responsibility, and consumer health considerations.
The group's two resorts, Alba Wellness Valley by Fusion in Hue and Fusion Resort Cam Ranh, will begin implementing the commitment. In addition, other multinational companies and corporations in Asia are also currently committing to using free-range chicken eggs.
