Fusion commits to using 100% free-range eggs by 2025

21/05/2021

Fusion has just announced a partnership with Humane Society International (HSI) with a commitment to start using free-range eggs this year and a goal of reaching 100% by 2025.

Specifically, Fusion hotels and resorts in Hue, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Cam Ranh, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau and Phu Quoc have committed to start using cage-free eggs this year, aiming to reach 100% by 2025 or sooner depending on market supply. The group’s upcoming resorts and hotels will also participate in this commitment.

HSI's role is to support businesses in Southeast Asia in implementing animal welfare policies and regularly organizes collaborative workshops, production techniques, and cage-free chicken farming.

Fusion’s commitment shows the future of the trend of using free-range eggs. At the same time, HSI also believes that efforts to call on businesses, organizations and individuals to use free-range eggs instead of caged eggs need to be maintained.

Cage-keeping of chickens is common all over the world as well as in Vietnam, preventing them from moving freely and laying eggs in a confined space. Therefore, the use of free-range poultry eggs and ensuring animal welfare is spreading in many countries, not only for humane reasons but also related to economics, social responsibility and consumer health.

The group’s two resorts, Alba Wellness Valley by Fusion in Hue and Fusion Resort Cam Ranh, will begin implementing the commitment. Along with that, other multinational companies and corporations in Asia are also implementing the commitment to use free-range eggs.
