It can be seen that airfares are usually higher during peak hours such as early morning and late afternoon. Nguyen Huyen Vi (living in Hanoi) is flexible in choosing flight times and days to find cheap tickets. She chooses to fly during “slow” hours such as late at night or early morning or on weekdays instead of weekends.
“To save on travel costs for my summer trip, I chose to fly at night, departing at 11pm and returning at 5am. With domestic flights usually lasting less than 2 hours, flying at night does not cause too much inconvenience in terms of time. In addition, choosing to fly at this time helps me save on accommodation costs and does not need to take too many days off when traveling,” Huyen Vi shared.

Similarly, travelers can hunt for Vietjet and Vietravel Airlines tickets with prices starting from only 1.2 million VND/way for flights departing on weekdays in the night time slot. Vietjet airfares in the summer are about 20% lower and Vietravel Airlines is about 14%. In addition, travelers can choose flights departing on weekdays and book early, at least 7 days before the expected departure date to enjoy the best preferential prices.

Instead of jostling during the three peak summer months with sky-high airfares, many tourists are now choosing the trend of "late summer vacations" in the last months of the year.
