Ha Giang plans to develop adventure tourism.

On August 13th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province released a report on the current state of adventure tourism products in Ha Giang province.

The report indicates that Ha Giang province has favorable conditions for developing adventure tourism products, with advantages in diverse topography associated with attractive landscapes, notably the UNESCO Global Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau and the Hoang Su Phi terraced rice fields national scenic site, which have long attracted the attention of tourists with unique and distinctive tourism products.

According to the Ha Giang Culture, Sports and Tourism Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, several types of adventure tourism suitable to the characteristics of resources and exploitation conditions in some localities will be developed, such as: paragliding (Quan Ba, Xin Man); car, motorbike, and mountain bike racing (Yen Minh, Xin Man); professional mountain climbing, sinkhole exploration, San To cave (Meo Vac), Kho My cave (Quan Ba), Khun cave (Quang Binh); zipline activities at Phia Dau ecotourism area (Bac Me) and Lung Ho (Yen Minh); rafting across Du Gia waterfall (Yen Minh); and exploration activities in nature reserves in the province such as: Du Gia, Chi San, Bat Dai Son, Ma Pi Leng, Phong Quang, Tay Con Linh, Bac Me...

In the planning scheme for the Dong Van Karst Plateau tourism area until 2025, with a vision to 2030 (approved by the Prime Minister in 2017), it was also determined that the Tu San Gorge and Ma Pi Leng area would be developed into an adventure sports zone with a scale of 20 hectares; oriented towards developing adventure sports tourism based on exploiting the rugged terrain conditions in the Tu San Gorge and Nho Que River area, such as zipline, bungee, paragliding, adventurous kayaking to explore the Nho Que River, and hot air ballooning.

In recent times, to exploit the potential and strengths of adventure tourism in the locality, Ha Giang province has coordinated with businesses to organize motorcycle and car racing competitions (Yen Minh district); implemented a paragliding project (Hoang Su Phi district); and collaborated with Lao Cai province to organize the Bac Ha (Lao Cai) - Xin Man (Ha Giang) mountain bike race.
