The chrysanthemum season begins in December and ends in February. Therefore, many families often display potted chrysanthemums during Tet (Vietnamese New Year). According to folk beliefs, growing chrysanthemums in the house brings stability, good fortune, and harmonious relationships.

The time when daisies fade is also when chrysanthemums begin to bloom. There is only one chrysanthemum. The season and bloom profusely in the days following the New Year.
Chrysanthemums are not unique to Hanoi. But for the people of the capital in general, these flowers have a very distinct cultural life. Without needing to be explicitly stated, when people see flower carts on countless roads from the suburbs to the city center, they silently understand that November brings autumn with chrysanthemums, and December brings the marigolds, signaling the approaching spring – a familiar and long-standing belief.

Flower carts – a familiar sight on the streets of Hanoi during this time of year – are covered with chrysanthemums.
In Vietnam, chrysanthemums are considered one of the four noble flowers (plum blossom, orchid, chrysanthemum, bamboo). Chrysanthemums are very durable, and even when wilted, the petals do not fall from the flower. The flower also refuses to leave the branch, like a virtuous person who never abandons their ideals throughout their life, as Confucian scholars of old used to say, "The leaves do not leave the branch, the flower does not fall to the ground." The chrysanthemum is also depicted in the Japanese national emblem.

The petals spread out in a round shape, arranged in multiple layers around the pistil. The brighter the sun shines, the more magnificent the flower's color becomes.
Despite being a simple, unassuming flower found in rural areas, chrysanthemums possess their own unique beauty, charm, and allure. Furthermore, chrysanthemums are used to make tea and are a medicinal herb with many benefits, including cooling the body, reducing inflammation, detoxifying, and improving brain function.

Chrysanthemum, also known as golden chrysanthemum and affectionately called "royal chrysanthemum" by locals, is a variety of medicinal chrysanthemum.
Some famous chrysanthemum gardens include the Nhat Tan garden, while the chrysanthemum garden in Hung Yen specializes in drying the flowers for medicinal purposes and tea making.
