Hanoi ends home quarantine for people returning from epidemic areas.

19/11/2021

On November 18th, Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 24 regarding the monitoring and testing of high-risk cases from areas with Covid-19 outbreaks. Accordingly, Hanoi will end the 7-day home quarantine for people who have received all doses of the vaccine or recovered from Covid-19 cases who have come from areas with a high number of Covid-19 cases.

Specifically, according to the directive, Hanoi requires those who have received all doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, or have recovered from the disease within 6 months prior to returning to their locality (with a discharge certificate/certificate of recovery): to self-monitor their health at home or their place of residence for 7 days from the date of return and strictly adhere to the 5K message; to undergo SARS-CoV-2 testing on the first day; and if they experience any unusual health symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, or loss of taste, to report to the health authorities for monitoring and treatment as prescribed.

Individuals who have not received the full course of the Covid-19 vaccine must self-isolate at home or their place of residence for 7 days upon returning to their locality; continue to self-monitor their health for the next 7 days and always practice the 5K measures; and undergo SARS-CoV-2 testing on the 1st and 7th days after returning to their locality.

For those who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19, they must self-isolate for 14 days from the date of their return to their locality; continue to self-monitor their health for the next 14 days and strictly follow the 5K message; and undergo SARS CoV-2 testing on the first, seventh, and fourteenth day after returning to their locality.

Those returning from abroad who meet the eligibility requirements must have a vaccination certificate, a certificate confirming recovery from Covid-19, or other equivalent foreign documents as guided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

People arriving from provinces and cities must proactively get tested for SARS-CoV-2 using the RT-PCR method or rapid antigen test (there is no requirement for people to present test results upon entering the province or city).

In cases where a test result is positive for SARS-CoV-2, the situation will be handled according to regulations. Based on the actual conditions in the locality, the Department of Health will manage SARS-CoV-2 infected individuals at medical facilities or at home according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, and will also establish mobile health stations to ensure healthcare and disease prevention and control for the people.
