After a long period of disruption to the tourism industry due to national policies aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19, many countries reopened air routes in 2023, including Japan and Vietnam. This is good news for travel enthusiasts in general and those with a special affection for Japan, as it provides an opportunity to visit many cities in the Land of the Rising Sun.
With the aim of introducing the landmarks, cuisine, and activities that tourists can experience when visiting Nagasaki and Saga, as well as considering new destinations for upcoming trips to Japan, the Nagasaki Prefectural Tourism Association and the Saga Prefectural Tourism Association, in collaboration with Kilala Communications, are organizing a seminar titled "Tourism in Nagasaki and Saga Prefectures, Japan".
Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, has a long-standing historical relationship with Vietnam.
Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, has a long historical relationship with Vietnam dating back to the time of the Red Seal Ship trade during the Edo period (1603-1868). Today, the image of the "Red Seal Ship"—evidence of the good relations between the two sides—is still present at the Okunchi Festival in Nagasaki. Furthermore, as a port city, Nagasaki has been deeply influenced by and is a melting pot of Japanese, Chinese, and European cultures and cuisines.
Meanwhile, neighboring Saga Prefecture, situated right next to Fukuoka and serving as the gateway to Kyushu, boasts not only a prime location but also a wealth of attractions, from scenic spots and delicious cuisine to hot spring resorts. In particular, Saga is home to Japan's traditional pottery, with pottery towns such as Karatsu, Arita, and Imari.
Nagasaki and Saga have many unique landmarks and interesting landscapes.
At the event, representatives from Nagasaki and Saga prefectures will share information about unique landmarks, interesting landscapes, and exciting activities for those who wish to have a wonderful time in Japan.
In addition, Mr. Shusuke Uchida, Deputy Chief Representative of the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) in Vietnam, also gave a presentation on: the status of flights between Japan and Vietnam, and the JNTO Hanoi office's plan to promote visits to Japan.
