West Lake is strangely beautiful

Le The Thang - a photography lover, living and working in Hanoi - is more attached to Hanoi than his hometown. “I love Hanoi, love West Lake enough to hang around and wander around whenever I have time, whether the weather is beautiful or rainy and gloomy”, he said. “West Lake is the most beautiful place in Hanoi, I always think of it that way. Whenever I long for beautiful pictures of Hanoi, whether special or ordinary, I come here.”

And for Le The Thang, not only autumn but West Lake seems to have a strange beauty in every season, so: “I take pictures of West Lake in all seasons, all months and at all possible times. I take pictures from many positions around the lake, from the lake bed.”

I don’t know how many times he sat waiting for the sun to set on Thanh Nien Street, how many times he walked around the lake watching people fishing, swimming, sometimes he rented a water bike, called a swan, pedaled out to the lake and looked around from the lake itself. “A couple of times, I went to very high places to look at West Lake passionately.” For him, it was always like that.
