However, this coastal city in central Vietnam has not lost its inherent romance and historical charm, thanks to its ancient temples, rows of old-fashioned houses built along the canals, and hundreds of colorful lanterns hanging in the streets. Cuisine is also a major attraction of Hoi An ancient town, with famous dishes such as banh mi (Vietnamese baguette), cao lau (noodle soup), mi quang (Quang Nam noodles), chicken rice, grilled meat, and more.
