On November 18th, the Chairperson of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Dr. Pang Yiu-Kai, issued official government announcements for tour groups visiting Hong Kong.
Accordingly, tour group travelers are allowed to dine in designated areas at restaurants and experience reduced Covid-19 nucleic acid testing times, along with specific lifting of restrictions. This includes allowing international tour groups arriving in Hong Kong with pre-registered itineraries from licensed travel agencies to access designated locations such as theme parks, museums, and temples, as well as dine at designated establishments, provided they possess an Amber code from their vaccine card.
The Hong Kong government announced it would lift travel restrictions starting in November.
Dr. Pang shared: “Hong Kong is one of Asia’s busiest tourist destinations in winter. This announcement will take effect before peak tourist seasons like Christmas and Lunar New Year. Therefore, it will encourage tourists to return to experience the festive season in Hong Kong, especially those from Southeast Asia. In addition, the Hong Kong Tourism Board will continue to work closely with trade partners to promote diverse activities and experiences in the city to attract international visitors.”
“We are delighted that the new travel guidelines have received such a warm welcome from our partners and travelers in Southeast Asia,” added Raymond Chan, Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board for Southeast Asia.
In addition, more trade promotion and marketing activities will be implemented in the coming months to welcome tourist groups from Southeast Asia to Hong Kong.
