On November 18, Hong Kong Tourism Board Chairman Dr. Pang Yiu-Kai issued official government notices for tourist groups when traveling to Hong Kong.
Accordingly, tourists from tour groups are allowed to dine in designated areas at restaurants and reduce the time for Covid-19 nucleic acid testing and specific orders are lifted. This includes allowing international tourist groups to come to Hong Kong with pre-registered travel schedules from licensed travel agencies to be allowed to enter designated places such as amusement parks, museums and temples, as well as dine at catering establishments when possessing the Amber code of the vaccine card.
Hong Kong government announces lifting of travel restrictions from November
“Hong Kong is one of Asia’s busiest winter destinations. This announcement will come into effect before the peak tourist seasons such as Christmas and Chinese New Year. This will attract tourists to return to Hong Kong to experience the festive season, especially those from Southeast Asia. In addition, the Hong Kong Tourism Board will continue to work closely with our business partners to promote diverse activities and experiences in the city to attract overseas visitors,” said Dr. Pang.
“We are delighted that the new travel guidance announcements have received enthusiastic support from our Southeast Asian partners and travelers,” added Raymond Chan, Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board Southeast Asia.
In addition, more trade promotion and marketing activities will be launched in the coming months to welcome tourist groups from Southeast Asia to Hong Kong.
