Every city in the world has its own famous iconic hotel: in New York it is The Plaza, in Paris it is the Ritz, in London it is Claridge's... And in Singapore it is the Raven Raffles, the luxurious neo-Renaissance hotel, the birthplace of the famous Singapore Sling cocktail and also the temporary residence of many world famous people such as Queen Elizabeth II, actress Elizabeth Taylor, writer Rudyard Kipling, writer Somerset Maugham, director Alfred Hitchcock or the king of pop Michael Jackson...
Raffles Hotel Singapore
However, for the past two years, the hotel has been closed for extensive renovations. This is not the first time a hotel has closed for this reason (the Raffles closed for renovations in 1989), nor is it uncommon for older hotels (the Ritz in Paris temporarily closed from 2012-2016). But after the success of the movie Crazy Rich Asians, until the 200th anniversary of Singapore's founding, the closure of Raffles has left a big void in the hearts of tourists.
But this August, Raffles Singapore has officially reopened with a 10% increase in the number of hotel rooms from 103 to 115. The rooms are designed with brighter colors, more spacious and sophisticated space, and integrated with modern technology such as tablet and smartphone control connection. The hotel also increased prices by 25% to 30% compared to previous room rates.
In addition, Raffles Singapore also offers 10 culinary areas with diverse experiences and a retail area of 40 famous brands.
