"If you come to Taiwan, you absolutely must try visiting Taitung and Hualien at least once to admire all the dreamy natural scenery there," travel blogger Tai Toi Day (Tai Pham) shared with Travellive.

Over six days and more than 1,000 km from Tainan to Taichung and then back up to Taipei, Tai Pham captured the breathtaking beauty of Taiwan's summer scenery. "Actually, tourists usually visit Taiwan in winter and spring because of the cooler weather. But Taiwan in summer also has its own unique beauty: the vibrant beauty under the sunlight, the poetic beauty of the rice fields, and the refreshing beauty of the babbling streams flowing through the mountains," he shared.

Tai Pham explored Taiwan in 6 days, traveling approximately 1000 km.

Starting from Tainan, Tai Pham rented a car to explore Taiwan. He used the Irent app to rent a car at a cost of approximately 2,500,000 VND per day. According to him, renting a car for traveling in Taiwan is suitable for those who like to freely admire the beautiful scenery of Taiwan without spending too much money.

From downtown Tainan, it takes about an hour to travel to Dagang Shan. You should go there in the late afternoon; although the road is quite winding, the reward is well worth it. There's no better place than Dagang Shan – a lesser-known destination – to admire the entire city of Tainan shimmering in countless lights at night.

Along the coast, Tài Phạm traveled through Pingtung, then on to Taitung. In Tài's eyes, Taitung was a tranquil land. It was the cool, turquoise waters of Mulberry Creek, also known locally as "Shen Tian Stream," and the sweet, warm hues of the rice paddies in Chishang Township.

When visiting Taitung, don't miss the opportunity to trek deep into Mulberry Creek to enjoy the refreshing coolness amidst the summer heat. Taking time to admire the picturesque rice paddies surrounded by majestic mountains will also make your exploration of Taiwan's natural beauty more complete.

Taiwan is not just about skyscrapers like Taipei 101 and the glittering lights of its cities. It also boasts many attractive destinations with stunning natural beauty, such as Hualien. Tai Pham chose Taroko National Park as his first destination upon arriving in Hualien, the largest county in Taiwan.

Spending the entire morning leisurely trekking along tree-lined paths, the cool and pleasant climate in the park made Tai Pham feel so refreshed that he could hardly believe he was in the middle of summer. "Although I know these structures were created by human hands, I have to praise the Taiwanese approach to tourism. They know how to connect with and harmonize with nature to provide the most pleasant and natural tourism experiences for visitors," Tai Pham exclaimed.

Located just about 10 minutes from the city center, Qixingtang Beach offers a complete escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The crescent-shaped coastline stretches beautifully along the cliffs. "Visit Qixingtang to immerse yourself in the tranquility and spaciousness, and take some lovely photos here," Tài suggests.

Leaving Hualien, Tai Fan traveled through Taichung and then on to Taipei. Located near the center of Taiwan's capital, Keelung was the next destination on the journey, offering many interesting sights. Badouzi Seaside Park, spanning thousands of hectares, allows visitors to hike along valleys and low hills, then gaze out at the vast ocean. For those who appreciate unique architecture, the Agena Shipyard, with its rows of colorful European-style buildings, is a must-see in Taipei.

If you're in Taipei, be sure to visit Jiufen. The ancient village of Jiufen is famous for its old architecture and its "snack food paradise." Walking along the main street, you'll find many souvenir shops and eateries. Jiufen is also a popular tourist spot with ideal sunset views.

Taiwan travel tips

Visa

Taiwan's current visa policy is quite "lenient" for tourists. Tai Pham notes that freelancers need to have social insurance for at least three months to apply for a visa. If they do not have social insurance or their coverage is less than three months, they will certainly not be granted a visa.

He added that currently, after receiving a visa, up to 7 days before departure, you can register for a lucky draw on the Taiwan Tourism Bureau website. The lucky draw is only available at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA), Taichung Airport (RMQ), and Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH). The prize is 5000 New Taiwan Dollars, awarded according to the traveler's choice: an e-voucher for shopping or a discount voucher for accommodation.

Vehicle

Tourists should use public transportation such as buses, trains, and trams. Avoid using taxis due to their exorbitant costs. Additionally, if traveling independently, you can also consider renting a car.

Simply go to a rental lot (available in many locations), choose your desired model, and complete the online rental process. The cost is approximately 2,500,000 VND per vehicle per day, excluding fuel. You will be issued a prepaid card to pay for vehicle-related expenses, including fuel. After returning the vehicle, you will be asked to pay the total fee including tax.

Eat and drink

In Tai Pham's opinion, most of the food in Taiwan is delicious. During the day, you can stop at any restaurant to eat. But at night, you absolutely must try the diverse and irresistibly delicious food at the night markets all over Taiwan.
