About the "Nẫu land" of Phu Yen

25/07/2023

"Phu Yen is in its most beautiful season of the year. A peaceful Phu Yen, not only has blue sea and yellow sunshine, but also contains many cultural and historical values. This land of 'yellow flowers on green grass' has gradually captured my heart in its own unique way," Phuong Tali (Hanoi) shared with Travellive.

Phu Yen, a beautiful coastal land in the South Central Coast, boasts diversity with three sides bordered by mountains and a vast system of rivers, lagoons, bays and islands. This place still retains its wild and mysterious beauty, like a special gift that nature has reserved for this land.

Returning to Phu Yen after a year, Phuong Tali still could not hide her excitement when talking with Travellive. Phuong said: "I came here once last year, this year I chose Phu Yen again for my summer trip, because my experience here was so impressive."

The ideal time to visit Phu Yen

Phu Yen enjoys two distinct seasons, which will make your travel plans more convenient. The ideal time to visit this land is from January to August. During this time, the weather is stable and comfortable for tourism activities.

However, if tourists choose to visit from September to December, they need to be careful with the long rainy season, especially in the Central region. The persistent rains can make it difficult to visit tourist attractions. "Consider and plan your trip carefully to avoid unnecessary inconveniences and to fully enjoy the wild and majestic beauty of Phu Yen. Like me, I went in the summer, the weather was hot but all the natural scenery appeared under the clear blue sky of Phu Yen, beautiful as in the movies, very worth the experience," Phuong said.

"Pocket" the places not to be missed

Ong Cop wooden bridge - the longest wooden bridge in Vietnam

Ong Cop wooden bridge in Phu Yen, built in 1998, is considered the longest wooden bridge in Vietnam with a length of nearly 800 m and a width of about 1.5-1.8 m. This is not only an important traffic route for the local community, but also attracts hundreds of tourists every day to visit and capture beautiful moments on the bridge. What creates the beauty here is not only the rusticity and simplicity of the bridge, but also the surrounding natural scenery, with a vast, clear water surface and rows of green casuarina trees.

The bridge is a shortcut leading to famous sights in Phu Yen such as Ganh Da Dia, O Loan lagoon, Mang Lang church, Tam Giang dam...

"Walking in the middle of that vastness, I felt so small. This check-in location is quite interesting, but you also need to be careful when coming here. Because the bridge only uses wood and bamboo materials, it is not firmly fixed, it shakes a bit, and sometimes it is missing due to the gaps created by the wooden bars that are not connected together," Phuong recalled.

Mang Lang Church - a hundred-year-old architecture in Phu Yen

This church attracts visitors with its European Gothic architectural beauty, a style famous all over the world. With its main color being blue-gray, the church blends perfectly with the surrounding landscape, where green fields surround it.

Another special feature of this place is the small cellar, although small but built with sophistication. Inside the cellar, delicate sculptures tell the story of Saint Andrew Phu Yen, creating a unique, mysterious space.

Notably, Mang Lang Church is also recognized as the place where the first book in Vietnamese script is kept in our country. The precious book is called "Eight-day Sermons" by priest Akexan de Rhodes, which visitors can admire in a cave on the artificial hill of the church.

Ganh Da Dia - a masterpiece of nature

It can be said that the beauty of Ganh Da Dia is a masterpiece that nature has bestowed on Phu Yen. The type of rock in this location is basalt, formed about 200 million years ago through volcanic activity on the Van Hoa plateau. The lava flows from the volcano erupted and cooled quickly when exposed to cold water, leading to the phenomenon of natural shrinkage and cracking. That is the reason for the creation of the strangely beautiful and mysterious stone slabs as they are today.

However, what is particularly amazing here are the tens of thousands of hexagonal, circular and square stone pillars stacked on top of each other in a sophisticated manner. These stone pillars are consecutive as if the hands of a god have arranged them delicately. Seen from afar, Ganh Da Dia looks like a giant honeycomb, standing out in the middle of the blue sea, creating a magical, mythical beauty.

Phuong Tali said: "Ganh Da Dia Phu Yen is one of the five Ganh Da Dia in the world that has the phenomenon of lava eruptions creating this beautiful shape. That shows that nature has been extremely favorable to Vietnam to have such a wonderful wonder."

Bai Xep - pristine paradise

Bai Xep used to be a wild, little-known place until it became a famous scene in the movie "I see yellow flowers on green grass". Because it has not been exploited too much for tourism, the landscape here still retains its wild, pure beauty.

With the beautiful characteristics of a wild beach, Bai Xep attracts tourists by its golden sand, embracing the clear, emerald green sea water. You will feel the clear, cool sea water. Or standing on the green grass, looking out to the sea, the cool breeze dispels the heat and fatigue, bringing a feeling of relaxation and freshness. "With its enchanting, peaceful beauty, Bai Xep is an ideal destination for those who want to find and enjoy simple moments in the middle of nature," Phuong confided.

"Every trip gives us a new life"

The 3-day, 2-night trip ended, but what remained in Phuong's memory were countless lovely and memorable things about Phu Yen. Phuong confided: "Phu Yen has almost everything that is best for tourism. Beautiful scenery, delicious and cheap food, friendly and enthusiastic people. I remember the days here, wherever we went, we were welcomed, the feeling of traveling to a far away place, but very close and familiar".

Mỗi chuyến đi lại mang đến thật nhiều trải nghiệm, trái tim rộng mở đón nhận những điều mới mẻ hơn

Each trip brings many experiences, the heart opens to receive new things.

When asked about her favorite place in Phu Yen, Phuong's eyes lit up when she mentioned Dai Lanh Lighthouse. She was proud because this is the place to welcome the first sunrise in Vietnam. Following the trail, climbing the lighthouse, standing on high and looking down to see the vastness of the land, sky and sea, the trains slowly passing by, the majestic rocky canyons... all of those experiences will probably never fade in Phuong's memory.
