Daxing Airport is located 46 km from downtown Beijing with an area of about 47 km2, including 4 main runways and 4 auxiliary runways, capable of taking off and landing many planes at the same time. The building complex of Daxing airport terminal alone covers an area of 313,000 m2(consists of a central area and 5 branches radiating in all directions, shaped like a phoenix with its wings spread out).

Commenting on Daxing Airport, many construction experts were "amazed" by China's "extremely fast" construction speed. Specifically, in December 2014, Daxing Airport started construction; in September 2015, the foundation was dug and the first concrete batch for the airport terminal was poured.
The airport has a unique starfish shape and is the size of 100 football fields.

But less than 21 months later, on June 30, 2017, the steel structure of the dome of the terminal - one of the most important items of the airport (along with the runway, technical logistics area/air traffic control tower) was completed. By May 13, 2019, Daxing airport officially conducted the first test flights, with the simultaneous takeoff and landing of 4 aircraft on all 4 main runways.
On June 30, 2019, the final construction items of Daxing Airport were completed as scheduled. And on September 25, China officially opened Daxing International Airport - a new symbol of the capital Beijing.
Let's admire the panoramic view of Daxing airport from above.
