Tourism Malaysia, in collaboration with the Malaysian Embassy in Hanoi, the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts (MTCP) of Sarawak, Batik Air, the National Association of Private Educational Institutions Malaysia (NAPEI Malaysia), Resorts World Genting, ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre, and Columbia Leisure, will participate in the Vietnam International Tourism Fair (VITM) 2024. The event will take place from April 11-14, 2024 at the Hanoi International Exhibition Centre (ICE).
VITM Hanoi 2024, themed “Tourism – Green Transformation for Sustainable Development,” emphasizes responsible tourism linked to environmental preservation for sustainable development. Therefore, the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board and its partners will showcase potential tourist destinations, including ecotourism, a strength of the Malaysian tourism industry.
Throughout the four-day event, the vibrant image of Malaysia will be recreated through performances of traditional Sarawak dance, performances of the Sape instrument, quizzes about Malaysia, and Teh Tarik tea-dancing performances by cultural artists from Malaysia.
“VITM 2024 is a great opportunity to promote Malaysia with its diverse cultural and ecotourism products,” said Ms. Nor Hayati Zainuddin, Director of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in Vietnam.
VITM 2024 is a great opportunity to promote Malaysia with its diverse cultural and ecotourism products.
Tourism Malaysia also updates the latest tourism products and destinations in Malaysia, including the state of Sarawak. Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia, located on the island of Borneo, also known as the "land of the hornbill" - this rare bird is an important cultural symbol of the Dayak people.
On April 10th, ahead of the VITM Hanoi 2024 event, the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board also organized a seminar and update on Malaysian tourism products at the Lotte Hotel Hanoi. The seminar was expected to provide useful information on educational tourism, immigration policies, airline incentives, and outstanding and emerging tourist destinations in Malaysia to travel companies and media in Hanoi.
Throughout the four-day event, the vibrant colors of Malaysia will be showcased through performances of traditional Sarawak dances and performances of traditional musical instruments such as the Sape.
With the expectation of attracting 27.3 million international visitors to Malaysia in 2024, the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in Vietnam believes that participating in VITM Hanoi 2024 will be an ideal opportunity to showcase Malaysia's unique tourist destinations, vibrant culture, and distinctive natural wonders, leading up to Visit Malaysia 2026 (Malaysia Tourism Year 2026).
