1. Durian Ramen

Everyone knows durian, and ramen is nothing new. But when these two dishes are combined, it's a culinary explosion. The ramen is served in a Musang King durian shell, containing ramen noodles with scallion broth, a boiled egg, and, most notably, durian pulp.

The chewy noodles in the pork bone broth, mixed with fresh durian pulp, are rich, creamy, and fragrant. "When you eat it, it feels like you're eating both a sweet and a savory dish. The flavors blend together, very rich and intensely durian-flavored," she shared.

Getting to eat durian ramen isn't easy either, as the restaurant only serves 20 portions a day. "It took me two whole days to finally get to eat durian ramen, so you have to hurry and queue up early in the morning to experience this dish," Hoang Yen noted.

Originating from India, Roti Tisu (Roti Tissue) is a type of flatbread that resembles a sheet of paper. The bread is typically rolled out to about 70 cm in length, slightly larger than what most people can eat. This dish is grilled in a pan and has a sweet flavor profile, making it suitable for those with a sweet tooth.

"When I eat chocolate roti tisu, I think of Vietnamese rice paper or grilled rice crackers. The dough is rolled thin, placed on a pan, then spread with a little butter and sugar inside. A little chocolate is drizzled on the outside. When you eat it, it's both soft and crispy, a very unique taste. Besides that, they also sell many other dishes here, including Tea Tahrik, a signature Malaysian pulled milk tea that you should try," she said.

The durian flesh is firm, with large, closely spaced segments, and not mushy.

"Musang King has a strong aroma, a creamy, rich taste, and very soft, moist flesh, unlike other durian varieties that are dry. If you're a true durian enthusiast, you definitely have to try this one," the female content creator commented.

4. Nasi Lemak

Nasi Lemak is a popular and long-standing rice dish in Malaysia, found on almost every street corner in the country. While Saigon is famous for its broken rice dish, whose "essence" is fish sauce, Malaysia has Nasi Lemak, characterized by its fragrant and creamy coconut milk. The rice is also cooked with pandan leaves, making it very sticky, fragrant, and soft.

Nasi Lemak rice is a must-have accompaniment to crispy salted roasted peanuts, dried fish, dried venison, chili sauce, boiled egg, and cucumber. Sometimes chicken, beef, seafood, or lamb curry are added. It may look simple, but this dish is incredibly addictive with its mild spiciness, a touch of sweetness, and a hint of salt for a harmonious flavor. The rice grains are soft, chewy, and fragrant with the rich aroma of coconut milk.
