Malaysia is chosen by many Vietnamese tourists as a favorite tourist destination.

In 2017, a total of 248,927 Vietnamese tourists visited Malaysia, an increase of 14.8% compared to 2016. Vietnam is currently the 15th largest market among countries and territories sending tourists to Malaysia. In January 2018, Malaysia also welcomed 22,060 Vietnamese tourists, an increase of 29.7% compared to the same period last year.

Market segments such as family tourism, resort tourism, spiritual tourism or shopping tourism are all potential markets and Malaysia can meet these tourism needs of Vietnamese people.

 

Tourism Malaysia will be participating in the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) taking place in Hanoi from 29 March to 1 April 2018, marking its fourth participation in the largest tourism trade event in the Northern region with over 650 exhibitors from 18 countries and territories. The 4-day event at the Hanoi International Exhibition Centre will be an opportunity for buyers and sellers to exchange with each other and develop more new tourism products and programs.

 

 

Malaysia’s presence at VITM Hanoi this year is an early step in the regional rollout of Visit Malaysia Year 2020. This is an effort to boost the number of Vietnamese tourists to Malaysia by enhancing the image of Malaysia as an ideal tourist destination and promoting cooperation between tour operators and members of the tourism industry.

 

This year, Malaysia will bring to VITM Hanoi 2018 many diverse and attractive promotional programs for visitors to the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Agency booth at Booth A78, Hall A2. To attract more visitors, Malaysia Tourism Promotion Agency will launch marketing campaigns and cooperation activities targeting customers in the Vietnamese market. Within the framework of VITM Hanoi 2018, Malaysia Tourism Promotion Agency will cooperate with Malaysia Airlines, Esperantotour, Goldentour, Hoang Viet Travel, CEO Travel and Vietravel to introduce to visitors Malaysia tour packages with special incentives.

 

At the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Agency booth, visitors can buy tours with the Kuala Lumpur - Melaka (6 days 5 nights) tour program of CEO Travel with prices starting from 12,290 million VND or the Kuala Lumpur - Melaka - Johor shopping tour (6 days 5 nights) of Hoang Viet Travel with prices starting from 9,990 million VND. In addition, the national airline Malaysia Airlines also offers special round-trip airfare deals, Hanoi - Kuala Lumpur route from only 2,53 million VND, Hanoi - Penang/ Langkawi from 3,45 million VND.

At the same time, Tourism Malaysia also introduced an exciting upcoming event - Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival, one of the three most anticipated shopping seasons of the year promoted by the Malaysian government. This event takes place from 15 May to 31 July 2018. A series of entertainment events and exciting family activities are also organized for tourists at shopping malls such as Suria KLCC, Pavilion KL, Starhill Gallery and many more.
