Malaysia makes a strong comeback at VITM Hanoi 2019 to promote tourism

Malaysia continues its efforts to attract more Vietnamese tourists by attending the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) from 27 to 30 March 2019 at the Hanoi International Exhibition Centre. This is the fifth time that the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board has attended this event.
Malaysia is participating in VITM Hanoi 2019 in a promotional effort to strongly attract Vietnamese tourists to Malaysia, by promoting and enhancing awareness of Malaysia as an ideal holiday destination, and strengthening cooperation with travel agencies and tourism industry players. Visitors at VITM Hanoi can meet suppliers from Malaysia such as Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, Columbia Leisure, Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and Malindo Air.
Mr. Abdul Hadi Che Man, Director of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Agency in Vietnam said: “Malaysia is an ideal destination with reasonable costs and many tourism options suitable for all the needs of the Vietnamese market.”
Malaysia Tourism Board's partners such as Malindo Air, Sunway Theme Parks and Hotels, Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and Columbia Leisure will join Tourism Board Malaysia to introduce their latest products and services. At the same time, Tourism Board Malaysia also cooperates with Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club (HUTC) to bring tourists attractive tour packages such as: Kuala Lumpur - Sunway Lagoon (4 days 3 nights) from VND 8.9 million; Kuala Lumpur - Sky Mirror (4 days 3 nights) from VND 10.49 million; Penang (4 days 3 nights) from VND 10.69 million; Kuala Lumpur - Ipoh (4 days 3 nights) from VND 10.89 million and Kuala Lumpur - Langkawi (5 days 4 nights) from VND 13.9 million.
At VITM 2019, Malaysian culture will be showcased through traditional dances by the Kuala Lumpur City Council Cultural Troupe, and performances of banana leaf rice wrapping and three-layer tea by Malaysian artisans.
The Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board also organized a Tourism Seminar for Malaysian suppliers to introduce their products and services as well as meet Vietnamese customers at Melia Hanoi Hotel on 28 March 2019.
Vietnam is one of the top 15 markets sending tourists to Malaysia with a total of 375,578 Vietnamese visitors in 2018, an increase of 50.9% compared to 2017. Market-relevant promotional efforts coupled with a frequency of 151 weekly flights, offering 26,676 seats from Vietnamese cities to Malaysia contributed to this growth in visitors.
Malaysia hopes to reach 425,345 tourist arrivals from the Vietnamese market in 2019.
