Khanh Hoa begins welcoming international tourists

On the afternoon of November 25, the first flight carrying international passengers with vaccine passports landed at Cam Ranh International Airport (Khanh Hoa Province). This is a good sign for Khanh Hoa's tourism industry after nearly 2 years of stagnation due to the pandemic.

Bamboo Airways flight number QH9451 brought 293 international tourists from Incheon Airport (South Korea) to Cam Ranh International Airport on the afternoon of November 25. Of the 293 passengers, 43 were Vietnamese with US and Canadian citizenship, traveling with "vaccine passports". Immediately after getting off the plane, the passengers received welcome cards and souvenirs from leaders of departments and agencies of Khanh Hoa province.

Tourists will come to Vinpearl Resort & Spa Long Beach Nha Trang for a 7-day closed tour, then visit destinations approved by the Provincial People's Committee. Those in the group who want to stay in Vietnam to visit relatives will register with the unit to complete handover procedures, be brought back to their hometown and undergo medical supervision.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of Khanh Hoa Province Department of Tourism said that Khanh Hoa Province currently allows 5 travel agencies to organize the reception of international guests, besides, a number of other travel agencies have also submitted registration documents and are in the process of appraisal. She also added that in the period from November 25 to December 31, Khanh Hoa will welcome over 40 flights with about 9,000 international guests.

Khanh Hoa tourism industry also aims to welcome about 163,700 visitors, including 2,600 international visitors, with tourism revenue reaching 476 billion VND in the last 3 months of 2021. According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, as of November 25, there were 36 establishments in the area that met the conditions to be allowed to welcome international tourists with "vaccine passports" and will start welcoming international visitors from the end of November.

Previously, a working delegation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism came to work and monitor the preparations to welcome tourists in Khanh Hoa province, and highly appreciated the readiness of the local tourism industry and businesses in the area.
