The Red Sea Project is located on the west coast of Saudi Arabia between the cities of Umluj and Al Wajh with an area of 28,000 km2. The site encompasses 200 km of coastline and features an archipelago of 90 unspoiled islands, dormant volcanoes, miles of desert, dramatic mountain landscapes, and a variety of wildlife. The project is set to open to visitors in late 2022.
Red Sea Resorts and Spas offer the perfect blend of luxury, tranquility and outdoor wellness. All services are designed to perfectly meet the growing needs of the modern, luxury traveler.
With its natural shape resembling a dolphin, the island has the world's fourth largest coral reef system and a significant amount of endangered coral.
The diversity of the islands and coastlines offer a unique opportunity to experience the culture and natural world. The high quality of service and accommodation will also set new standards in luxury travel and position Saudi Arabia on the global tourism map.
The most prominent of these is Shurayrah, the central island of the Red Sea project on the west coast of Saudi Arabia. With its natural shape resembling a dolphin, the island has the world's fourth largest coral reef system and a significant amount of endangered coral.
The design here has the colors of the ocean.
75% of the islands will be undeveloped to protect the natural environment and maintain its pristine appearance. The project will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions, waste production, light and noise pollution, maintaining the destination at the equivalent level of a marine reserve.
The Red Sea project has passed important milestones and is on track to welcome its first guests in late 2022 when the international airport and the first four hotels will open. The remaining 12 hotels are planned to open in 2023.
Inside the villa area of the Red Sea project
Upon completion in 2030, the Red Sea project will include 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and approximately 1,300 properties across 22 islands and six mainland properties. The destination will also include luxury marinas, entertainment and leisure facilities.
Diverse marine ecosystem
The design of the water resort is inspired by the surrounding natural environment, especially the coral in its purest form, creating a circular effect. The circle also symbolizes unity, integration and wholeness, giving guests a sense of completion, confidence and harmony.
Airport model serving tourists coming to relax
This new resort for the wealthy is set to launch in Saudi Arabia around the end of 2022.
The inland villas are also inspired by the sand dunes. Each villa will be designed separately to give guests a sense of privacy. The resort promises to bring future guests a luxurious experience like no other on earth.
