After being collected at Hon Bay Canh, 99 turtle eggs were transferred by Con Dao National Park to Six Senses Con Dao on June 3 for conservation and care, and then a total of 99 baby turtles were released into the ocean.
Once the eggs are received, the resort’s conservation team assembles and cares for the nests using natural methods to ensure the eggs are in the best possible condition. The team constantly monitors the sand temperature to control hatching rates and protect the hatchlings from natural predators.

Over the past three years, in collaboration with Con Dao National Park, Six Senses Con Dao’s Let’s Get Cracking artificial incubator has become a haven for many newly hatched turtles. As the only resort in the country licensed to work with the authorities in sea turtle conservation, the incubator has so far released more than 7,000 baby turtles into the sea.

A total of 99 baby turtles were released into the ocean from 99 eggs in one incubation batch, this record hatching rate demonstrates the efforts of the resort as well as the National Park in conserving this rare species.
