09/12/2014

Cuba's capital Havana has been honored in the list of 7 Wonder Cities of the world launched and voted by the New7Wonders Organization.

Along with Cuba's capital Havana, La Paz (Bolivia), Durban (South Africa), Beirut (Lebanon), Doha (Qatar), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Vigan city (Philippines) are also on the list of 7 Wonder Cities of the world.

For the people of La Habana, this title is also considered a very meaningful gift as this beautiful city just celebrated its 495th birthday a few days ago.

The process of selecting the 7 Wonder Cities of the World lasted more than 2 years, with more than 1,200 cities nominated around the world. Voting was conducted online on the New7Wonders website.

After many rounds of voting with increasingly strict criteria, the number of candidates was reduced to 14 cities and the 7 best names were announced after receiving evaluations from the group of 7 New7Wonders experts and a number of famous experts in the fields of architecture, planning, communication, sociology and economics.
