Lost in the paradise of Moc Chau

23/02/2017

In February, remote villages on the Moc Chau plateau (Son La province) such as Phieng Canh, Na Ka, Ta Phinh, Loong Luong, Ba Phach... simultaneously change their colors, signaling the arrival of another plum blossom season. This year, the peach blossoms bloomed early, but the last branches of the season still managed to "contribute" to the beauty of Moc Chau's plum blossom landscape.

Spring still seems to linger dreamily in the highlands of Northwest Vietnam, with tiny, pure white plum blossoms covering the hillsides and valleys. The delicate, fresh petals bathed in the spring sunshine captivate any visitor.

Nestled amidst that landscape were the simple wooden houses of the H'mong people. A few children gathered on the porch, sisters covered in dirt and dust, as innocent as the mountains and forests of the highlands.

Somewhere, a shy Hmong girl smiles and turns to look at the traveler in the warm spring sunshine. Playful children ride their bicycles along the dirt road or climb the plum trees, excitedly welcoming visitors. The giggling of children fills the spring air, mingling with the vibrant traditional costumes.

Amidst the pristine white of the plum blossoms are delicate pink peach blossoms, creating an atmosphere that seems to entice travelers from afar to linger.
