Artists and home builders have good taste.
Ba Hat De (Three Chestnuts) was born from the owner's passion for European fairy tales and inspired by the story "Three Chestnuts for Cinderella." Located in Lam Truong village, Minh Phu commune, Soc Son district, more than 30 km from the center of Hanoi, Ba Hat De stands out amidst the mountain valley with its red and white wood tones blending with the lush green of nature.
Sharing with Travellive, Ms. Do Quyen Hoa - owner of the Ba Hat De housing complex - said: "During the peak of the pandemic, my family and I chose to move to the outskirts of Hanoi to find a comfortable, airy space close to nature. We chose this place because of its beautiful location: nestled against the mountainside, with a lake and an area of up to 1 hectare. Starting with a blank plot of land, I came up with ideas and began designing and arranging everything from the big picture to the smallest details. Since childhood, I have been passionate about reading fairy tales, poetry, and foreign novels. And there's an old saying: Chinese food, a Japanese wife, a Western house. Because I like the strong Western feel, the houses at Ba Hat De were born from that."
Nestled beside ancient pine trees and overlooking rolling hills, Ba Hat De emerges with cozy wooden houses amidst gardens overflowing with flowers and fresh air.
The owner envisioned this place as a peaceful, healing retreat, nestled amidst mountains, a serene lake, and lush greenery, offering an extraordinary sense of tranquility and serenity.
Regarding the meaning of the name, Ms. Do Quyen Hoa said: "The name is very important to me. I like Vietnamese names that are easy to pronounce and simple. It will create a memorable impression for all visitors on their first visit. Besides being inspired by fairy tales, I absolutely love the wild chestnut flower because of its incredibly fragrant scent."

A multi-talented individual—fashion designer, painter, and photographer—Do Quyen Hoa has always loved beauty and strived to create unique and tasteful things. Every item and decoration, both inside and outside the house, is meticulously crafted by her own hands to create a distinctive style: the wood, furniture, and mattresses are imported by sea and must perfectly match the house's overall aesthetic; the tablecloths are hand-embroidered; and the paintings displayed throughout the house are skillfully created by her. Therefore, Ba Hat De (Three Chestnuts) emerges as an artistic space built from the simplest of things.
From an artistic perspective, according to Ms. Do Quyen Hoa: "The bungalows in Ba Hat De have a deep red color that, when combined with white, creates a contrasting effect. Along with the chlorophyll of the leaves, these three colors are very precious and valuable, providing an extremely high visual impact and making them stand out in photos."
The lake-facing bungalow is called the Cinderella Room.
The bungalow overlooking the fairytale garden is called Snow White.
European charm in the countryside
Ba Hat De consists of one main villa with a unique and luxurious Scandinavian design and seven fairytale-style satellite bungalows nestled peacefully by the lake, blending seamlessly with the surrounding greenery and flowers, giving every visitor the feeling of stepping into a fairytale world.
Ba Hat De is a blessed land where birds come to perch.
The owner added that what makes Ba Hat De special is the diverse age range of visitors, from the elderly to children, all enjoying the place. In addition, experienced photographers often come here to capture moments photographing waterbirds such as bitterns, teals, and rails.

The main villa, with a floor area of over 400 m2, includes 6 private bedrooms and 1 dormitory-style bedroom.
"From young to old, everyone who comes to Ba Hat De (Three Chestnuts) loves taking photos. To create a beautiful foreground, I invested a considerable amount of money in the garden's trees. With this type of house, I have to carefully consider what kind of trees to plant to suit the style. I prioritize trees with small leaves that create a Western feel, such as pine, cypress, pomegranate, and conifers... The total cost of trees alone, from construction to now, has reached 3 billion VND. Therefore, I think I'm doing this out of passion rather than necessarily thinking about recouping my investment. I will constantly change Ba Hat De to make it fresher and more beautiful," said Ms. Do Quyen Hoa.
