ROMANTIC ANCIENT CAPITAL

26/04/2012

Hue, the former imperial capital in central Vietnam, is known as a poetic and romantic city. As the capital of the Nguyen lords of Dang Trong, then the capital of the Tay Son dynasty, and finally the Nguyen dynasty, Hue preserves many historical and cultural values, traces of the ancient feudal regime. Nature has blessed Hue with many beautiful landscapes, but Hue truly shines with the tangible and intangible cultural values created by its people. It is a place where cultural essence converges, creating a unique spirit and character for Hue.

The gentle Perfume River flows through and shapes the city of Hue.

Despite enduring the ups and downs and vicissitudes of history, Hue remains a captivating land with a gentle, peaceful, and romantic charm. The values that Hue has preserved have been deservedly recognized with UNESCO's designation as Vietnam's first World Cultural Heritage site in 1993. And today, Hue is one of the most visited destinations on the Vietnamese tourism map, along with a new title: Festival City.
