Famous specialty fruit brands such as An Phuoc plums, Chin Hoa durians, Xuong longan, Ha Chau strawberries, Ba Ro green pomelos, Hau plums, Hoa Loc mangoes, Thach Kiet longan, Que longan, honey oranges, palm sugar, Sa Li guavas, pink mangoes, and coconuts... contributed to the richness, diversity, and scale of the "Floating Fruit Market" in 2018.

The 10th "Delicious and Safe Fruits of Southern Vietnam" Competition

The 10th "Delicious and Safe Southern Fruit" competition took place on June 1, 2018, jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Southern Fruit Research Institute, and Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company. Throughout its nine previous seasons, the competition has consistently received enthusiastic support from farmers across the Southeast region, showcasing a variety of specialty fruits that are large, delicious, beautiful, and meet food safety standards. Many growers from 21 provinces and cities have selected and brought their produce to the competition.

The "Farmers' Quiz" program within the competition will provide much enjoyment for visitors, along with numerous prizes in the Safe and Delicious Fruit category and the Rare and Exotic Fruit and Vegetable Exhibition, which will be awarded to participating farmers. A particularly significant highlight of this year's competition is the honoring of farmers who have consistently won awards throughout the 10 years of the Southern Vietnam Delicious Fruit and Vegetable Competition.

Fruit carving art

The competition has been the main activity of the festival since 1997. Visitors will be able to admire exquisite and vibrant fruit sculptures created by talented artisans. The "Fruit Sculpting Art Competition" contributes to honoring, preserving, and promoting the cultural essence of Southern Vietnam.

In addition to the theme of Vietnamese culture, tourism, and history, this year's competition has expanded to include the theme of "Smart City," aiming to encourage artisans to apply scientific and technological advancements to their works, promote creativity, and strive for an increasingly civilized and modern quality of life.
