Attending the event were representatives of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the Hanoi Association of Artistic Photography, representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Culture - Sports - Tourism, award-winning photographers, photographers - collaborators of Heritage magazine, representatives of sponsors Ford Vietnam and Silk Path Grand Hotel & Resort, and representatives of press and media agencies.
This is the 9th time the Photo Contest has been successfully held by Heritage magazine.
With experience in organizing annual awards, this is the 9th time the Photo Award has been successfully held by Heritage magazine. After 4 months of launching (from April 1 to July 31, 2023), the Organizing Committee has received a large number of entries, including 186 photo sets, 536 cover photos (Cover Photo Category), 19 single photos (Single Photo Category).
The good news is that although in the past two years, due to the impact of the Covid epidemic, the actual work of photographers has been somewhat limited, the quality of the works submitted to the contest is quite even. Compositions on the themes of cultural customs, heritage, and festivals still dominate, thanks to the authors' careful research and preparation during the working process. The jury had to consider carefully to select the works worthy of awards. As a result, in the Photo Collection category, there were 7 awards, including one Special Prize, one First Prize, and 5 Equal Prizes. The Cover Photo category only had 5 Equal Prizes, and the Single Photo category had one Vietnam Airlines Moment Prize.
In addition, Heritage Photo Tour 2023 was also successfully organized in August, with the support of transportation sponsor Ford Vietnam, accommodation sponsor Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa in Sapa, and Silk Path Grand Hue Hotel & Spa in Hue. Nearly 200 works were directly composed by 7 photographers - close collaborators of the magazine - during the 7-day trip from Sapa to Hue. 30 best photos were selected to be displayed together in the exhibition. These are creative and impressive angles of photographers - close collaborators of Heritage magazine: Le Viet Khanh, Vinh Dav, Nguyen Phong, Nguyen Quang Ngoc (Tonkin), Haipiano Nguyen, Khanh Phan and Tran Giap.
Photography awards are given to the authors.
The Heritage Photography Award - Heritage Journey 2023 has concluded with the Award Ceremony and Opening of the Heritage Journey 2023 Exhibition. This is an activity to honor the authors, artists, partners and sponsors who have accompanied the Photo Award through the 10-year journey of development and innovation. This year's Photo Award - Exhibition 2023 also has a special meaning because it is a special activity marking the 30th anniversary of the founding of Heritage Magazine (1993-2023).
In particular, with the title of Asia's Leading Inflight Magazine (The winner of Asia's Leading Inflight Magazine), Heritage Magazine was recently honored to receive the World Travel Award (the world's leading award in the tourism industry to honor outstanding achievements of the tourism industry in all fields. World Travel Awards is considered the "Oscars of the world tourism industry") in early September. The annual Heritage Photo Award - Photo tour also contributes significantly to the source of image materials, so that the publications of Heritage editorial office are increasingly of better quality, meeting the mission of promoting the image of Vietnam to the world.
The "Vietnam Airlines Moment" Award was given to the work "Landing" by Nguyen Ngoc Thien.
