Snow covers the roof of Indochina, flycam disappears
Despite the harsh winter temperatures, photographer Tran Linh embarked on an ice-hunting journey filled with exciting memories: “Fansipan is the highest mountain in Vietnam, so I really hope to experience every moment of nature there, especially the night moments on the top of the mountain in very cold weather with ice.”
This trip in particular left Tran Linh with many emotions. One of the memories he probably remembers most in his journey is the flycam that could not return to its owner.
“The weather conditions on the top of Fansipan that day were very harsh, the temperature was freezing cold with quite strong winds. I took off just to check the cloud height, pressed return home to get down, put the controller on the backpack and install the camera. When I looked back, the drone was 1 km away from me and completely disoriented in the fog. I turned on the maps and controlled the camera according to the maps' instructions, but the technology failed at that moment. The battery started to show 25% remaining, I tried to get down to see something to get a shape until I saw the cable car, but the camera had completely lost connection and disappeared,” the male photographer shared.

The picture of Fansipan immersed in ice makes anyone captivated and amazed by its shimmering beauty as if coming out of a fairy tale. In the midst of the misty fog, Fansipan peak stands tall and proud in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, both majestic and magnificent, poetic and lyrical. Especially, when the rare rays of sunlight penetrate through the sea of white clouds, the ice here becomes sparkling like diamonds.
Traveling from Hanoi to Sa Pa, then taking the cable car to the top of Fansipan, the male photographer arrived here at 3 p.m., just in time to fully admire the sunset scene of the roof of Indochina. That night, he rested here to be able to "hunt" for the freezing moment at night and early the next morning.

“While having dinner at 8pm, I saw the glass outside the window frozen, so I quickly left my dinner to go straight to the top of Fansipan to take pictures of the frozen scene at night under the bright moonlight,” photographer Tran Linh confided.
Waking up early in the morning, Tran Linh moved to the top of Fansipan to hunt for ice on the peak because the temperature was very low at that time. Talking to Travellive, the photographer said: “At dawn, the sunlight shines on the surrounding landscapes such as ancient rhododendron trees, Amitabha Buddha statue, Guanyin Buddha statue... Natural light will highlight the white color of the ice, helping to fully describe the scenery of Fansipan peak”.

Pocket the secret to successful ice and snow hunting
According to Tran Linh, Fansipan peak is high so the air is quite thin, making breathing more difficult and tiring very quickly when having to move. On top of that, the road is covered with a layer of ice so it is very slippery, moving is difficult, you need to go slowly and be sure with each step.
To successfully hunt for ice and snow, the photographer advises tourists to follow weather forecasts and regularly update the actual situation from local people. In addition, he advises tourists to prepare warm clothes, fully equipped with gloves and woolen hats. You should also bring drinks to help warm your body every time you go outside.
