Lonely Planet focuses on showcasing Phong Nha – Ke Bang in Vietnam.

For the first time, information about Phong Nha - Ke Bang takes up six pages in Lonely Planet's latest travel guide.

Lonely Planet is a globally successful travel publisher, having printed over 100 million books in numerous languages ​​and becoming an indispensable guide for travelers. Nearly 80% of travelers use this book to plan their trips.

The section on Central Vietnam, written by Ian Steward in the summer of 2013 and completed in March 2014, features Phong Nha-Ke Bang (PN-KB) as the most fascinating cave exploration destination in Southeast Asia.

Phong Nha – Ke Bang was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site in 2003. With its collection of stunning caves, including dry caves and water caves, towering stalactites and crystal stalagmites representing nature on a truly grand scale, Phong Nha – Ke Bang is beginning to create a tourism boom in Vietnam.

Recently, an expedition team from the Royal British Cave Association collaborated on a survey and exploration of the caves within the national park. This was the team's 16th expedition since 1990, and they discovered a series of new caves as well as obtained important results regarding the hydrological system in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang area.
