Ethnic people are excited about the Tomato Village feature set

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Van, Deputy General Director of Viettel Telecom Corporation said: "The "Northwest Spring Colors" Festival is meant as a spiritual gift to ethnic minorities in the border areas of the Fatherland.
The festival is not only an opportunity for people to exchange and promote the traditional beauty of their ethnic groups, but also an opportunity for domestic and international tourists to learn and experience firsthand the unique cultural values of the ethnic communities in the Northwest."

On this occasion, Viettel also celebrated the 1st anniversary of launching the Buôn Làng feature set. Officially launched in January 2013, the Buôn Làng Tomato feature set is the first mobile telecommunications product in Vietnam to support languages for ethnic minorities (currently including 10 languages, including Khmer, Gia Rai, Tay Nung, Mong, Dao, Thai, Muong, Ba Na, Ede, H're).
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Van also said: "The feature of calling hotline 3334 (call center for agricultural guidance, weekly news, storytelling, listening to online music in ethnic languages broadcast 24/7) is the most used by people with nearly 300,000 calls in January 2014 alone."

Using the Tomato Village Feature Set Together

In the coming time, Viettel will continue to develop and perfect more features and utilities of the Tomato Buôn Làng Feature Set and aim to popularize telecommunications services for more than 12 million ethnic minorities, helping them access social information, policies of the Party and State as well as contribute to preserving and developing their cultural and linguistic values.

Designed based on in-depth research on cultural customs and daily life of the people, Tomato Buôn Làng feature set has been well received by the people since its launch and reached nearly 1.86 million subscribers after only one year of operation.

In particular, instead of providing a call center in Kinh language as usual, Viettel provides a call center in 10 languages, helping people access telecommunications services more easily and contributing to the preservation of national cultural values.
