"Spring Colors of Northwest Vietnam" is a festival organized by the Viettel Military Telecommunications Group in coordination with the Committee for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas and Lao Cai Province, held at the town square in the center of Sapa town (Lao Cai province) on April 5-6, 2014.
The organizers stated that the event, meticulously prepared, promises to be a spectacular festival, rich in the cultural identity of the ethnic minority communities in the northwestern border region of Vietnam. This event also commemorates the first anniversary of the launch of the Village Feature Suite developed by Viettel specifically for ethnic minority communities.

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Van, Deputy General Director of Viettel Telecommunications Corporation, said: “The “Spring Colors of Northwest Vietnam” festival is meant as a spiritual gift to the ethnic minority people in the border regions of our country.”
The festival is not only an opportunity for the local people to interact and promote the beautiful traditions of their ethnic groups, but also a chance for domestic and international tourists to personally learn about and experience the unique cultural values of the ethnic communities in Northwest Vietnam.”

On this occasion, Viettel also celebrated the first anniversary of the launch of the Tomato Village feature set. Officially launched in January 2013, the Tomato Village feature set is the first mobile telecommunications product in Vietnam to support languages for ethnic minorities (currently including 10 languages: Khmer, Gia Rai, Tay Nung, Hmong, Dao, Thai, Muong, Ba Na, Ede, and H're).
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Van also stated: "The feature of calling the 3334 hotline (a hotline for agricultural guidance, weekly news summaries, storytelling, and online music in ethnic languages broadcast 24/7) is the most used by the people, with nearly 300,000 calls in January 2014 alone."

Let's use the Tomato Village Feature Set together.
In the coming period, Viettel will continue to develop and improve more features and utilities of the Tomato Village feature set and aim to popularize telecommunication services for more than 12 million ethnic minority people, helping them access social information, the policies of the Party and the State, as well as contributing to the preservation and development of their cultural values and languages.
Designed based on in-depth research into the cultural customs and lifestyles of the local people, the Tomato Village feature set has been well-received by the community since its launch, reaching nearly 1.86 million subscribers in just one year of operation.
In particular, instead of providing a call center in the Kinh language as is typical, Viettel offers a call center with support in 10 languages, making it easier for people to access telecommunication services and contributing to the preservation of national cultural values.
