According to Google Destination Insights, a destination trend tracking tool, from the beginning of December 2021 until now, the number of international visitors searching for Vietnam's airlines and tourist accommodation facilities has increased by over 75%, the highest increase globally.

This analysis also shows that the most searches for Vietnam tourism come from the following countries: USA, Australia, Russia, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Canada, India, UK,...

Besides, Ho Chi Minh City is the most popular destination for domestic tourists, followed by Hanoi, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Phan Thiet, Da Nang, Vinh, and Hue.

According to the Tourism Center (General Department of Tourism), the main driver of Vietnam's world-leading growth rate is aviation search demand, with a growth figure of 19% in December 2021, increasing to 133% by early February and peaking at 557% on February 8. The number of searches for accommodation in Vietnam also increased, reaching 228% on February 1 and peaking at 426% on February 3. The figures are all compared to the same period in 2021.

The strong growth in international search demand for Vietnam's aviation and tourism is considered a positive signal as Vietnam's tourism prepares to fully reopen from March 15. Vietnam is currently implementing the second phase of the pilot to welcome international visitors, in which participating localities welcomed 9,500 visitors.

According to data from Google Destination Insights, the countries following Vietnam in terms of rapidly increasing travel searches are Chile with an increase of 50 - 75%; New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria, Croatia with 25 - 50%. The overall search demand for global travel also increased by 56% compared to the same period last year.
