The Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, together with the Malaysian Embassy in Vietnam, recently organized a workshop in Hanoi to update Malaysian tourism products. The workshop emphasized the importance of the Vietnamese market to the Malaysian tourism industry in attracting tourists.

Tourism Malaysia, in collaboration with the Malaysian Embassy in Vietnam, recently organized a workshop in Hanoi to update on Malaysian tourism products. Within the framework of the VITM Hanoi 2024 International Tourism Fair, Tourism Malaysia and its partners showcased booths featuring numerous potential tourist destinations. VITM 2024 presented a great opportunity to promote Malaysia with its diverse cultural and eco-tourism products.

Malaysia is known as an attractive tourist destination with a diverse culture. A highlight of Malaysian tourism is its wide range of products at competitive prices, including ecotourism, resorts, entertainment, adventure sports, and shopping destinations.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Vietnam, Dato' Tan Yang Thai, stated that with the expectation of attracting 27.3 million international tourists to Malaysia in 2024, Vietnam is a particularly important market for Malaysia to achieve this goal.

Sharing his views on the potential for tourism development between the two countries, Dato' Tan Yang Thai said: “In 2023, tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia also made significant progress. Malaysia welcomed 344,361 Vietnamese tourists, while 470,105 Malaysian tourists traveled to Vietnam. In 2024, Malaysia hopes to attract even more tourists from Vietnam, with a target of 470,000 visitors. Looking ahead to the Malaysia Tourism Year 2026 (Visit Malaysia 2026), Ms. Nor Hayati Zainuddin - Director of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in Vietnam, added: "The Malaysian tourism industry is committed to developing tourism through close cooperation with strategic partners to share experiences, develop flight routes and tourism products, support promotion and invest in improving service quality."

AirAsia and Batik Air have also joined the flight network between Vietnam and Malaysia, facilitating travel for tourists. Mr. Nguyen Duc Khanh, Batik Air's representative in Vietnam, stated: "Batik Air operates daily direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and two major Vietnamese tourist centers, Hanoi and Da Nang, providing travelers from both countries with more flexible flight options. Passengers also enjoy greater comfort with a modern digital platform throughout the flight, including entertainment services, in-flight services, and mobile device connectivity."

From April 11-14, at the Malaysian tourism booth at VITM Hanoi 2024, the colorful image of Malaysia will be recreated through performances of traditional Sarawak dance, Sape instrument performances, quizzes about Malaysia, and Teh Tarik tea-dancing performances by cultural artists from Malaysia.
