According to Mr. Hoang Viet Trung - Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, as the demand for travel after the pandemic is increasing, the center has coordinated with the Department of Tourism to organize to welcome large groups of visitors, connect with travel agencies to promote and introduce the Hue Monuments Complex, and stimulate tourism.
During the September 2 holiday, many special activities will take place in the province such as: Thuy Bieu Thanh Tra Festival 2022 with the theme "Thuy Bieu Thanh Tra - Hue Flavor" from September 1 to September 4; Hue Lion Dance Festival 2022 taking place at Ngo Mon Square on the nights of September 3-4; Lion Dance Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival on a large scale on the streets of Hue city on September 6; Traditional Mid-Autumn Lantern Exhibition at Hue City Cultural - Information Center from September 3-8; Traditional boat racing festival with the competition of 9 racing teams, taking place at 6:00 a.m. on September 2 on the Perfume River.
Vietnamese citizens visiting relic sites in the Hue Monuments Complex on September 2 will be 100% exempted from fees.
It is expected that in the 6 days from August 31 to September 5, the total number of visitors to Thua Thien Hue will reach 60,000, revenue from tourism services will reach 50 billion VND. The number of guests staying is estimated at 25,000 (including nearly 4,500 international guests), the average room occupancy rate of hotels will reach about 53%, on September 1 and 2 alone, the room occupancy rate of hotels will be over 70%, some 3-4 star hotels in the center of Hue city and resort hotels will reach over 90%.
The Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism said it had sent a dispatch to local tourism businesses, requesting them to ensure prices are in accordance with regulations and to negotiate with customers in advance if there are any adjustments. On this occasion, the Department also set up an interdisciplinary team to inspect and monitor tourism activities before, during and after the holiday.
In addition to free admission to the Hue Monuments Complex for Vietnamese tourists on September 2, the City tour - Hue Heritage Journey with 12 stops and the "Hue Night Sightseeing Route" by double-decker bus will also have a 50% discount on September 2.
According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, since the flexible opening policy after the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of visitors to the heritage site of the Hue Monuments Complex has increased sharply, especially during holidays. On May 1 alone, there were 13,418 visitors to Hue monuments, with revenue of more than 1.9 billion VND.
