According to Insider, the incident occurred on an Air France flight from Geneva (Switzerland) to Paris (France).
Shortly after takeoff, flight attendants heard an argument between two people in the cockpit. The reason for the altercation has not yet been released.
The flight then proceeded normally. However, both pilots were suspended from flying for "inappropriate conduct".

An unnamed source recounted: "The two pilots grabbed each other by the neck. They appeared to be hitting or slapping each other. The noise drew the attention of the crew members." Another report stated that one of the pilots "took a piece of wood to the face" during the altercation.
According to Insider, a crew member had to stay in the cockpit to ensure the two men stopped fighting.
In an official statement, Air France confirmed that the incident was resolved quickly and did not affect flight safety. The airline also suspended those involved pending a final decision.
The incident was not referred to the French civil aviation safety investigation agency, the Bureau d'Enquetes et d'Analyses (BEA). The reason was that the incident did not have adverse consequences for the flight.
