On October 11th, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, signed Official Document No. 7450/UBND-GD addressed to the Hue Imperial Citadel Relics Conservation Center, requesting the Center to waive entrance fees to the Hue Imperial Citadel complex on October 20th for Vietnamese and international female tourists wearing traditional ao dai (Vietnamese long dress). The document also instructed that this announcement be widely publicized so that officials, citizens, and tourists are aware and can participate.

Previously, on International Women's Day (March 8th), Thua Thien Hue province also waived entrance fees to historical sites from March 7th to 9th for women wearing traditional ao dai (Vietnamese long dress). This program created a positive effect and received support from many locals and tourists.
More and more tourists are wearing traditional ao dai (Vietnamese long dress) when visiting the historical sites of Hue Imperial City.
Since September 2018, this province has mandated that all female officials, civil servants, and employees of administrative agencies and public service units wear the traditional Vietnamese ao dai dress every Monday. This activity aims to honor the cultural identity and traditional beauty of the Vietnamese ao dai; to celebrate the grace and gentleness of women in the ancient capital region; and to create a beautiful workplace culture.

Mr. Tho also wrote a letter calling on students and teachers in schools throughout the area to wear the traditional Vietnamese ao dai dress two to three days a week to school. According to him, with active participation in this campaign, the image of the Hue ao dai will have the opportunity to return to its "golden age," contributing to making Hue more beautiful in the eyes of friends and tourists.
According to statistics from the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Department of Tourism, from the beginning of the year until now, Hue has welcomed more than 3.4 million tourists, including more than 1.4 million international visitors, an increase of 8.7% compared to 2018. The province's tourism revenue to date has reached more than 3,299 billion VND, an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year.
