Focusing on building a more detailed database of Vietnamese users than existing platforms, Vmap currently has over 23.4 million address data points nationwide, providing users with detailed addresses down to the alley, lane, village, and hamlet level.

Vmap - a digital map for Vietnamese people - is a fundamental data platform comprising maps and address data layers. With a network of over 12,000 service points and more than 50,000 employees extending down to the commune and village levels, along with a modern information technology system and experience in data collection across various fields.

Vmap, a digital map developed by Vietnam Post, focuses on building a database and address system for Vietnamese users. Compared to some existing map and navigation platforms, Vmap displays unique map layers and provides detailed addresses down to the house number, whether in urban areas or mountainous and remote regions.

According to the development team, collecting map data involved 120,000 postal workers and youth union members who directly gathered information over three months, generating more than 23.4 million addresses nationwide. This data can be applied in business, such as providing it to delivery services and using it on other systems.

Currently, Vmap has over 23.4 million address data points nationwide. Besides basic features like address search and directions, Vmap will pursue a different, more useful approach for users. This involves displaying separate map layers for various aspects of life and providing detailed addresses down to the house number, whether in urban areas or mountainous, remote, and rural regions.

Currently, Vmap is only available on the web; a smartphone application has not yet been launched. However, the beta version has already reached a considerable number of users. Many Vietnamese businesses also have high hopes for its application in management and business operations.

Besides the Vmap project, another project within the framework, iNhandao, was also introduced. This project, spearheaded by the Vietnam Red Cross Society, uses digital addresses from the Vmap map to build a database of humanitarian addresses, providing accurate information to ensure that donors' activities reach the right recipients in a transparent and clear manner.
