Naruko-kyo is a V-shaped gorge in Miyagi Prefecture with vertical cliffs about 100 m high running for 2.5 km along both banks of the Daiya River. It takes about 5 minutes by car from Naruko–Onsen Station on the JR Rikutosen Line.
Here, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the four seasons, especially many tourists visit in the fall from mid-October to early November, when everywhere is filled with yellow and red leaves covering the gray-brown color of the bare rocky hills. Crossing the gorge is the Ofukasawabashi bridge, creating a charming, poetic and magnificent landscape, attracting many tourists to come here to walk, sightsee and take pictures every fall.

Most of Miyagi's tourist attractions near Naruko-kyo Gorge are accessible by public transport, and there are helpful tourist information counters near major train stations. Driving yourself to explore the stunning autumn mountain roads of this majestic land is also a very interesting experience.
