Although the Starkbierzeit beer festival attracts only half the number of attendees compared to Oktobirfest, breweries throughout Munich set up large beer halls to serve the festival during the three weeks of March.
The beer served at the festival has a high alcohol content of around 7.5%. Therefore, when attending Starkbierzeit, drink slowly so you can keep up with the locals and stay sober enough to enjoy the lively music.
