Hoang The Anh, a telecommunications employee living in Hanoi, has a passion for photography and often takes his camera to popular spots in the capital. Around November each year, when the zinnia flowers bloom in vibrant purple, he always makes time to go to Long Bien to capture beautiful moments there. To take these photos, The Anh has to go to the flower garden at one of two times: early morning or sunset.
"This is the time of year with the most beautiful light, making it easy to capture the purple hues of the zinnia flowers in the garden," Hoàng Thế Anh shared.
Speaking to Travellive, Hoang The Anh said he took the photos on a weekday afternoon in winter. This was a time when the zinnia garden was less crowded and the light was harmonious. The garden's exquisite arrangement also gave him inspiration for the photoshoot.
"The garden's layout is incredibly sophisticated, with rows of purple flowers stretching towards the sunset, creating a scene straight out of a European movie," said Hoang The Anh.
Sunrise and sunset are the best times to take photos here.
According to Hoang The Anh, tourists who want to capture the most beautiful moments should visit in the mid-afternoon, when the weather is cool and the sunset begins to appear. He once went to the zinnia garden at midday or near dusk and couldn't take any photos because the sunlight was too bright, causing overexposure. Furthermore, the garden doesn't have much shade or shelter for visitors. When asked about photo spots for check-ins this season in Hanoi, The Anh said that the capital is in full bloom with daisies, and tourists can consider locations such as Phuong Linh flower garden and the Red River rock formations.
"My plan is to photograph daisies at Bai Da Song Hong beach soon, hoping to have some beautiful photos to share with readers," said Hoang The Anh.
In mid-November, the zinnia flower enters its vibrant season. The zinnia field located in Thach Cau (Long Bien ward, Long Bien district, Hanoi) attracts hundreds of visitors every day. This dreamy, deep purple garden covers more than 12,000 square meters with approximately 150,000 zinnia plants. Its eye-catching and impressive color reminds many people of lavender fields in France, Italy, and other countries. Zinnias are also known by other names such as Hundred-Day Pink or Thousand-Day Pink, and originate from the tropical regions of the United States.
