simple eating
Food is definitely one of the reasons you want to explore a new place. While most of the food in Stockholm is on the pricey side, once you adjust your expectations and approach to eating, you will find that the food you try is well worth the price.
Pizza kebab is a popular dish in Sweden, and every pizzeria in Stockholm has its own version of this delicacy. It's basically a pizza with a tomato base, topped with cheese, onions, pepperoncini peppers, doner kebab meat, and your usual kebab sauce. A large pizza kebab at Corella Pizzeria is a great deal at just 90 krona. You can also try the Jamaican curry pizza (with bananas!) at Angelo's for 94 krona.

When looking for accommodation, keep an eye out for hotels or guesthouses that offer a breakfast buffet. A Swedish buffet is so sumptuous with so many delicious dishes that if you are confident and not afraid to take a lot, breakfast can instantly become lunch without spending extra money. You can even discreetly slip some rye bread, traditional Swedish biscuits or apples into your bag or backpack.

The best places to dine in Stockholm are outdoors, or under the stars, for free. Take your buffet or leftover pizza to one of the city's picturesque parks for the perfect picnic. Head up to Skinnarviksberget in Södermalm, the city's highest point, for breathtaking panoramic views of Stockholm. Locals also love the picturesque Ivar Los Park, where you can soak up the city's picturesque scenery, from Lake Mälaren to Gamla Stan (Stockholm's old town) and the iconic City Hall.

Swimming and bathing in the sea
If you’re on a budget and want to learn more about ABBA, then visit the ABBA Museum. But if you’re on a budget, there are plenty of fun things to do in Stockholm that won’t cost you a penny, like swimming and sunbathing.
Summer is the best time to visit Stockholm, when the warm weather encourages you to cool off wherever and whenever the locals do. The waters around Stockholm Island are so clean that you can swim and bathe right in the heart of the city, particularly at Tantolunden Park. Alternatively, you can relax at beaches like Långholmsbadet and Brunnsviksbadet.

Get lost in Stockholm's underground art scene
Getting around Stockholm on foot is easy, and it’s a great way to save money (especially if you don’t want to buy the Stockholm Travel Card). But don’t miss out on the city’s unique metro system, which also offers access to public art. For 45 krona (about 112,000 VND) for a one-way metro ticket valid for 75 minutes, you’ll be treated to mesmerizing works of art on the platforms, walls, and waiting areas of each station. From the cool blues of the main area of T-Centralen to the rainbow-hued Stadion and the otherworldly greens and reds of Solna Centrum, every stop is a sight to behold.
