Yoga originated in India and is known as a way to support people's health and spirit. And today (June 21), as temperatures soared in many cities, including the capital Delhi, thousands of Indians from many cities and towns gathered outdoors to celebrate International Yoga Day.
Even the Indian Army's dog unit celebrates the day!

Armed forces on board the naval aircraft carrier INS Viraat, which is docked off the coast of Mumbai, also practiced yoga to mark the day.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to the streets to practice yoga along with about 40,000 people during today's celebrations in Ranchi city. He performed movements ranging from stretching to bending and breathing exercises.
"We should make efforts to popularize yoga from urban to village and tribal areas. Yoga does not discriminate against religion, caste, color, gender, or region," Prime Minister Modi said at the main event to kick off the celebrations.
