Thomas Schiff’s frames are often empty. He shares in the book: “I usually go in to prepare to take photos an hour before opening time. Libraries want to ensure privacy for visitors, which also fits my idea, I want to take pictures of the library when this space is empty.”

These days, it’s easy for anyone to shoot a panorama digitally. But Schiff doesn’t. He captures his images with a film panorama camera called the Hulcherama 120. “It makes it more complicated to create the images, but I really like the format,” he says.
