Located 150 km north of the capital Leh, Nubra is the most fertile valley in the entire Ladakh region with the center of Diskit village. From Leh, to reach Nubra valley, visitors will have to cross Khardung La, a pass with an altitude of more than 5,000 m, known as the highest motorable road in the world. Therefore, the attraction of Nubra begins right from the journey leading to the valley.

The first time you come to Nubra, you will surely be breathless by the natural beauty of the valley. Nature has generously bestowed upon you stunning landscapes and ancient monasteries towering on the hilltops, from where you can gaze out and take in the endless clouds, the endless sandy roads, the undulating silhouettes of people walking slowly beside the absent-minded horses or the gentle camels and yaks. But the climate here is also harsh. Like other parts of Ladakh, Nubra is covered in snow for 6 months of the year. Although the scenery immersed in ice and snow of Nubra Valley is a stunning beauty, the lives of the people are difficult in winter and spring, and tourism is also stagnant.

Autumn is the time that attracts the most tourists because the forests dye the land and sky yellow and the sky is blue with clusters of clouds floating like cotton candy. This is the best time for tourists to admire the whole beauty of Nubra valley.
