Located 150 km north of the capital Leh, Nubra is the most fertile valley in the entire Ladakh region, centered around the village of Diskit. From Leh, to reach the Nubra Valley, visitors must cross Khardung La, a pass over 5,000 meters high, renowned as the world's highest motorable road. Therefore, the allure of Nubra begins right from the journey leading to the valley.

Upon your first visit to Nubra, you'll undoubtedly be breathless at the valley's natural beauty. Nature has generously bestowed breathtaking landscapes and ancient monasteries perched atop hills, from which one can gaze out and take in the endless mountain ranges shrouded in clouds, the vast sandy roads stretching as far as the eye can see, and the undulating landscapes where people stroll slowly alongside leisurely horses or gentle camels and yaks. However, the climate here is also harsh. Like other parts of Ladakh, Nubra is covered in snow for six months of the year. While the snow-covered scenery of the Nubra Valley is stunning, the lives of the people are difficult during the winter and spring, and tourism comes to a standstill.

Autumn is the most popular time for tourists because of the forests turning golden and the clear blue sky with clouds drifting like cotton candy. This is the best time for visitors to admire the full beauty of Nubra Valley.
